How to Keep Our Healing through God’s Word

In “Why People Who Get Healed Don’t Stay Healed,” we talked about what hinders us from staying healed after God has healed us. Also, we have already talked about the dietary meat laws God gave us through Moses. Also, we talked about healing through God’s original food plan. Today, we will talk about how to keep our healing through the Word of God, Yahweh Elohim.

It’s God’s Will to Heal

Let’s begin by understanding that it is God’s will to heal us. But in order to know this for sure you have to know what his will is and the only way to know that is to read it. The Bible is his will. He said it in the Old Testament and he said it in the New Testament.

“There were foolish people who suffered affliction because of their crimes and sins; they couldn’t stand to eat anything; they were near the gates of death. In their trouble they cried to ADONAI, and he rescued them from their distress; he sent his word and healed them, he delivered them from destruction.” (Psalm 107: 17-20 CJB)

“Bless ADONAI, my soul, and forget none of his benefits! He forgives all your offenses, he heals all your diseases, he redeems your life from the pit, he surrounds you with grace and compassion, he contents you with good as long as you live, so that your youth is renewed like an eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:2-5 CJB)

“But because I, ADONAI, do not change, you sons of Ya’akov will not be destroyed.” (Malachi 3:6 CJB)

“Yeshua went all over the Galil teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing people from every kind of disease and sickness. Word of him spread throughout all Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill, suffering from various diseases and pains, and those held in the power of demons, and epileptics and paralytics; and he healed them.” (Matthew 4:23-24 CJB)

“Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 CJB)

Based on the Word of God we now know healing is for us today. It is Yahweh’s desire to heal us. He never changed his mind on this topic. He remains the same throughout scriptures. It doesn’t matter who you are because Yeshua healed everyone who came to him. He didn’t send anyone away. He didn’t tell them their problem was too hard for him. He healed them all.

Even if you feel you don’t deserve to be healed. Your feelings don’t count. No matter what we have done it is still his desire to heal us. If we feel we have sinned against him, he has a solution for that also. Therefore, there is no reason to ever think he doesn’t want to heal us. Here is his solution:

“Return, backsliding Isra’el,” says ADONAI.

“I will not frown on you, for I am merciful,” says ADONAI.

“I will not bear a grudge forever. Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have committed crimes against ADONAI your God, that you were promiscuous with strangers under every green tree, and that you have not paid attention to my voice,” says ADONAI.

“Return, backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding.” (Jeremiah 3:12b-13, 22 CJB)

“I will heal their disloyalty; I will love them freely; for my anger has turned from him.” (Hosea 14:4 CJB)

God’s Word

How do we use God’s words to heal us? By speaking his words through faith. How do we get faith? By speaking his words out loud. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. When we speak his words out loud it gives us a chance to hear them. If we are constantly hearing his word then we are feeding ourselves with words of life. Eventually, we have no choice but to trust him at his word. He is not a man that he should lie, nor the son of a man that he should repent. Any word he uttered can be trusted.

Yahweh’s ultimate word came to us in the form of flesh – Yeshua, who paid the price for our healing. Yeshua became a curse for us so we can be free. He bored beatings so we can be healed from all of our diseases. He makes intercession for us daily. He told us he came to heal us and set us free. Yahweh’s Word will not go out and return to him void. It will accomplish everything he sent it to do.

Now we have to use his words in Yeshua to bring about our healing.

Plead the Promises of God

I recently read an article called Plead the Promises of God. There was a young preacher who started a prayer meeting. One night an elderly man, Uncle Am, came in to pray. When he prayed the young preacher detected something different in the atmosphere. It was as if God was answering while he was praying, unlike when the young preacher prayed – God seemed far off as well as his answer.

Wanting to know Uncle Am’s secret the young preacher went to visit him. Immediately Uncle Am took him by the hand and led him to his barn where he prayed. The young preacher prayed first. He poured out his heart, praying for his needs, the burdens he held, and the wishes, aspirations, and ambitions he had to God. Then Uncle Am prayed. Once again the atmosphere changed.

So the younger preacher finally got the guts to ask Uncle Am what his secret was for praying. He eye-bald him and said, “Young man, learn to plead the promises of God!”

God tells us to meditate on his words day and night. He knew he would honor his words, but in order to do that we have to know what his words are and remind him of them. We are to remind him that we are dust and without him we cease to exist. We are to remind him that he is our salvation, our strength, and our healer. We are to remind him of his words to us – peace, hope, and a future.

We have to remind him of his promises to us in every area of our lives. He desires us to have a wonderful life with him. “For however many promises God has made, they all find their ‘Yes’ in connection with him; that is why it is through him that we say the ‘Amen’ when we give glory to God.” (1 Corinthians 1:20 CJB)

Yahweh Heals Your Inner Hurts Too

God doesn’t just heal our physical bodies. He heals our emotions and inner turmoil also. Sometimes, our physical bodies can be healed by healing our inner turmoil, our emotional state. Proverbs tells us hope deferred makes a heart sick, envy rots the bones, and anxiety weighs a person down. These are all real mental and emotional problems. Yet, Yahweh our Healer says he can heal us even from these things. He can restore our souls.

Psalm 23:3 tells us he restores our soul. Psalm 41:4 is a cry for someone’s soul to be healed, which means he knew God could do it. A lot of people discount their mental state as needing healing, but God doesn’t. He heals our whole being, inside and outside, our inner pains and our physical pains. He’s awesome like that.

The next time you go to Yahweh for healing in Yeshua’s name, remember he wants you whole – your spiritual state, your mental state, and your physical state.

Prayer Time

Our Heavenly Father, who is in heaven,
Help us to spend time searching your scriptures to learn more of your will. Show us wasted time that could be used to meditate on your words.
In Yeshua the Messiah’s name, Amen.
