It’s the Devil’s Fault

When things don’t go as we plan we blame the devil for it. But if we really stop and think about it, 9 out of 10 times, the devil has nothing to do with what’s going on. Most of the time it was a human error and mostly it was our error. We didn’t do something we were supposed to do. Now we want to blame the devil for what happened. We don’t want to take responsibility for our own actions.

If we are really honest with ourselves, we would know that we aren’t even on the devil’s target list, at least most of us are not. We aren’t a threat to him or anyone else. We’re too busy playing church instead of being the church. (1 Cor. 3:16) We’re too busy trying to gain some type of status so we can be served instead of serving like Jesus Christ did. (Luke 22:24-27)

Let’s face it, if some of us stood in front of the devil, he would say, “Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15b)

Accept Responsibility

Please don’t miss understand me, sometimes it is the devil’s fault, but most of the time it is ours. It is ours because we refuse to listen to that still small voice that urges us to go another route, to say something different than what we really want to say, to be quiet instead of continuing to get our point across, and to slow down and prepare for an event instead of waiting until the last minute, which causes us to rush and make mistakes.

Let’s stop blaming the devil for every little thing. Let’s accept responsibility for our own lives. Then let’s ask God to help us to forgive ourselves for our mistakes, to be more careful next time and to make better decisions in the future.

Prayer Time

Our Heavenly Father, who is in heaven,
Help us to hear your voice more clearly and obey it immediately.
In Yeshua the Messiah’s name, Amen.
