If a truth is sprinkled with a little falsehood, it is easier to believe the whole matter to be true. If you keep adding a little falseness to a matter then eventually you can replace the whole truth with a whole lie. Now this whole lie has become a whole truth because the truth was eaten away a little at a time. When the part that is false is accepted as truth then another small lie can be added until there is nothing left of the truth.
