Every day when you turn on the television and watch the news you see calamity after calamity. Some storm hit here, another storm hit there. This hurricane spanned several countries with effects spanning one-third of the country. This crop failed because of drought. That crop failed because of floods. You literally don’t know what tomorrow […]

Lettuce & cabbage in my garden

This is part of Prepping One Week at a Time series. As you can see I haven’t been diligent in updating you, but I have been learning a lot. Earlier this year I went to visit a friend to show her the handmade cards I had begun to make. Before leaving she asked me if […]

April 17, 2012 By Dawn Leave a Comment

Today, I want to share some recipes that could be made in advance and sealed for use at a later time. Some call these “dinner in a jar” or “gifts in a jar” or “meals in a jar.” Whatever you want to call them the idea is to put most, if not all, of your […]

April 3, 2012 By Dawn 4 Comments

Another round of tornadoes devastates a part of our country. This time it’s Dallas, Texas. The videos of what happened are truly scary. I hope I never have to see a tornado up close and personal. My heart goes out to the people who lost what’s most precious to them – family and friends. This […]

Types of Food Preparation

March 27, 2012 By Dawn Leave a Comment

When preparing for a disaster you must consider how you are going to store food and for how long. While stocking food bars in your 3 day kit is okay, eating that long term is not. What if the bread winner of the family lost his/her job, what would you do? How long will you […]

Hello, My Name is Dawn

I started this blog to encourage the people of God to seek Him first, to love Him more, to trust Him more, and to love His people without conditions and without prejudices.

There are so many people hurting that it breaks my heart. I want people to know that God loves them. He cares for them and is concerned about every aspect of their lives.
