Yahweh is Good! – Psalm 107

November 16, 2013 By Dawn Leave a Comment

Psalm 107 tells us to give thanks to Yahweh for He is god. Why is He good? Because He has redeemed us from our enemies. He has gathered us from the ends of the earth. He rescued us in our distress, given us a place to live, and satisfied our hungry bellies. Even though we placed ourselves in chains and became miserable by defiling His word and scorning His counsel, He stilled restored us when we cried out. No matter what we do He is always there waiting for us to turn back to Him so He can heal and restore us. He blesses us when we don’t deserve His kindness. He loves us in spite of our selfish ways. Yahweh is good and we ought to thank Him every day we wake up and every night we lay down to sleep. His is worthy of our thanksgiving. Thank you Abba Yahweh for loving us in spite of.

Yahweh is Good

We give thanks to you Yahweh; for you are good, for your grace continues forever. Let those redeemed by you Yahweh say it, those you redeemed from the power of the foe. You gathered them from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.

They wandered in the desert, on paths through the wastes, without finding any inhabited city. They were hungry and thirsty, their life was ebbing away. In their trouble they cried to you Yahweh, and you rescued them from their distress. You led them by a direct path to a city where they could live.

Let them give thanks to you Yahweh for your grace, for your wonders bestowed on humanity! For you have satisfied the hungry, filled the starving with good.

Some lived in darkness, in death-dark gloom, bound in misery and iron chains, because they defied your word, scorned the counsel of you, the Most High. So you humbled their hearts by hard labor; when they stumbled, no one came to their aid. In their trouble they cried to you Yahweh, and you rescued them from their distress. You led them from darkness, from death-dark gloom, shattering their chains.

Let them give thanks to you Yahweh for your grace, for your wonders bestowed on humanity! For you shattered bronze doors and cut through iron bars.

There were foolish people who suffered affliction because of their crimes and sins; they couldn’t stand to eat anything; they were near the gates of death. In their trouble they cried to you Yahweh, and you rescued them from their distress; you sent your word and healed them; you delivered them from destruction.

Let them give thanks to you Yahweh for your grace, for your wonders bestowed on humanity! Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and proclaim your great deeds with songs of joy.

Those who go down to the sea in ships, plying their trade on the great ocean, saw your works Yahweh, your wonders in the deep. For at your word the storm-wind arose, lifting up towering waves. The sailors were raised up to the sky and then plunged into the depths. At the danger, their courage failed them, they reeled and staggered like drunk men, and all their skill was swallowed up. In their trouble they cried to you Yahweh, and you rescued them from their distress. You silenced the storm and stilled its waves, and they rejoiced as the sea grew calm. Then you brought them safely to their desired port.

Let them give thanks to you Yahweh for your grace, for your wonders bestowed on humanity! Let them extol you in the assembly of the people and praise you in the leaders’ council.

You turn rivers into desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, productive land into salt flats, because the people living there are so wicked.

But you also turns desert into pools of water, dry land into flowing springs; there you give the hungry a home, and they build a city to live in; there they sow fields and plant vineyards, which yield an abundant harvest.

You bless them, their numbers grow, and you don’t let their livestock decrease. When their numbers fall, and they grow weak, because of oppression, disaster and sorrow, you pour contempt on princes and leaves them to wander in trackless wastes. But the needy you raise up from their distress and increase their families like sheep. When the upright see this, they rejoice; while the wicked are reduced to silence.

Let whoever is wise observe these things and consider Yahweh’s loving deeds.

Halleluyah!

Hello, My Name is Dawn

I started this blog to encourage the people of God to seek Him first, to love Him more, to trust Him more, and to love His people without conditions and without prejudices.

There are so many people hurting that it breaks my heart. I want people to know that God loves them. He cares for them and is concerned about every aspect of their lives. This is the reason why Jesus came – to heal, to deliver, to restore, to set free, and to preach about the favor of Yahweh, our Father.
