Proclaim Yahweh’s Greatness – Psalm 34

Psalm 34 is by David during the time he pretended to be insane before Abimelekh, who then drove him away. Therefore, David was grateful to Yahweh for delivering him once again. He asked those around him to proclaim Yahweh’s greatness with him so that they could exalt his name together.

There is something powerful about praising the King of all the lands, the Elohim of the Universe, and Adonai of everyone. Who better deserves the praises than the Creator of all things? Only Yahweh Elohim does so let’s praise him with David.

Proclaim with me the greatness of Yahweh

I bless you, Yahweh at all times. Your praise will always be in my mouth.

When I boast, it is about you, Yahweh; the humble hear of it and are glad. I sought you, Yahweh, and you answered me; you rescued me from everything I feared.

Proclaim with me the greatness of Yahweh; let us exalt his name together.

They looked to you and grew radiant; their faces will never blush for shame. This poor man cried and Yahweh, you heard and saved him from all his troubles. Your angel, Yahweh, who encamps around those who fear you, delivers them.

Taste, and see that Yahweh is good.

How blessed are those who take refuge in you! Fear Yahweh, you holy ones of his, for those who fear him lack nothing. Young lions can be needy; they can go hungry, but those who seek you, Yahweh, lack nothing good.

Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of Yahweh. Which of you takes pleasure in living? Who wants a long life to see good things? If you do, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceiving talk; turn from evil, and do good; seek peace, go after it!

Your eyes, Yahweh, watch over the righteous, and your ears are open to their cry. But your face Yahweh opposes those who do evil, to cut off all memory of them from the earth. The righteous cried out, and Yahweh, you heard, and you saved them from all their troubles. Yahweh, you are near those with broken hearts; you save those whose spirit is crushed.

The righteous person suffers many evils, but Yahweh, you rescue him out of them all. You protect all his bones; not one of them gets broken. Evil will kill the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. But you, Yahweh, redeem your servants; no one who takes refuge in you will be condemned.

Halleluyah!
