God’s Will is to Heal Us

Heal Me Yah Like Jeremiah Said

“Heal me, YHWH, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.”

Yah is a Willing Healer

Normally, when believers quote scripture verses on healing the first one we go to is “by his stripes I am healed.” This is our go–to verse when we are sick. But I want to give you another verse that shows us another way to get healed from God Almighty. It’s Jeremiah 17:14. It shows us God’s will is to heal us.

First Name Basis

The first thing Jeremiah did was ask Yah for healing. He didn’t use a generic title for Him when speaking to Him. He didn’t call Him God or Lord. He called Him by His name.

Growing up we addressed our neighbors by a title and their last name like Mr. Brown. We called our aunts and uncles by a title and their name or nickname like Aunt Mary and Uncle Red. We called our parents mom, momma, mother, dad, daddy, and father.

God's Will is to Heal Us

We never called those over us by their first name. First name basis was only for those we grew up with and considered our friends. Friendship gave us confidence to ask our friend for anything, knowing he/she would give it to us or help us get it.

Friendships allowed us to share our secrets, our fears, our dreams, and everything else with the confidence in knowing it wasn’t going to be repeated without consent.

This is what Jeremiah showed us. He knew the Supreme Being on a friendship level. He called Him by name. He spoke to the people whatever God asked him to speak. He had been doing this since he was a child.

Growing up with God, learning His ways, doing whatever He wanted him to do, and getting close to Him shows a progression of their relationship.

Confidence in Yah

Jeremiah knew God’s character. He knew what God wanted for mankind. He knew healing was God’s will for them. Therefore, he had confidence in asking Him for anything.

After years of seeing God keep His promises towards Israel, Jeremiah knew God could be trusted. God continuously gave them options, allowing them to make their own decisions. Then He honored those decisions.

This is where we need to be. We must trust God, rely on Him to help us. No matter what’s happening in our lives, we ought to believe God first. His will is to heal us. It doesn’t matter what the doctor says. It doesn’t matter what your family and friends say. It doesn’t matter how the body is responding.

It is God’s will to heal us if we ask.

Praise God Always

Jeremiah ends with, “for You are my praise.” He lets God know man praises a lot of things. Man praises his status, his power, his family, his money, and more. But what Jeremiah praises is Yah Himself. Nothing else compares to Him. He is the only one who deserves all praises.

No matter what we are going through God Almighty deserves all of our praises. Jeremiah, David, and many others in the scriptures show us life might be tough, but praising God is the right thing to do.

Do you believe it’s God’s will to heal you? If not, continuously confess Jeremiah 17:14 over your life. If you already believe, share your experience of when God healed you or someone you love
