An Answer in a Dream about Torah

Last year I was beginning to study the Torah. I am from a Christian background and what I learned is that the law was done away with because Jesus fulfilled it. I had stopped studying the Bible for myself and just went by what the pastor said. After leaving mainstream churches I began to study the Bible for myself again. Then I joined groups that I felt would be helpful to me in learning more about what YHVH really wanted from his children.

This lead to learning a lot of stuff, but I had to take a break and ask YHVH if I was even on the right track. One night before going to bed I asked YHVH to show me if following Torah (his commands I should say) was correct. That night I believe he gave me the answer in a dream.

Analyzing DreamsThe Dream

I dreamt of 3 men who all said they wanted to be with me so I took a moment and interviewed each one of them. They all gave me some good reasons why I should pick them to be my man. They all ended their interview by telling me they loved me. Once the interviews were over, I informed them that I would get back to them after I had made a choice. Then I left.

Later, one guy showed up where I was. I asked him why was he there.

“I told you I love you. I want you to see it,” he responded.

I told him I haven’t made up my mind yet. He understood. Yet, everywhere I went he went. He followed me. He helped me. He looked after me. He did whatever I asked and was happy to do it. (I figured if I couldn’t get rid of him then I might as well use him to help me with some things I couldn’t do on my own.) Then something tragic happened and he protected me. I couldn’t believe he saved me.

Later that day, I gathered the men together in one room. It was time to make my decision. They all told me they loved me once again, but I chose the man who followed me all day. The other men were in shock because the one I chose wasn’t the cutest, the most fit, the tallest or anything else. He was just plain and average looking. The other two men began to ask why.

“Because he loves me,” I said.

“I love you too,” they responded.

“I know you say you do, but he showed me. He followed me everywhere and did anything I asked him to do without complaint. Every time I turned around he was there. Then he risked his life to save me. So you see I believe him when he says he loves me.”

I turned to face each of them and looked them in their eyes and said, “You did not show me love.” Then I walked off with the other man.

Love is Action

That dream made it clear to me that God expects me to follow his commands. When I do I show him that I love him. He gave those commands to us in the Torah. The first 10 he spoke directly to the children of Israel, and he expected them, their children, their children’s children, and all of their generations to follow them.

YHVH says he shows mercy to those who love him and keep his commands. Those are the ones he is in covenant with.

Yeshua said if you love me then you will keep my commands. Some of his commands consisted of:

  1. Love YHVH Elohim with all your heart, mind, soul, and body.
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
  3. Show love to one another.

Yeshua also said he only does what he saw his father do. He can only say what his father says. He never broke any of the Ten Commandments (as we call them) or any other rules and regulations laid out by his father, who is in heaven. We know this because he kept the feast days; he kept Shabbat; he never killed anyone; he didn’t covet or steal; or break any of the other commands.

More Proof of Love Means Keeping Commands

What Do You Think?

How do you view love? Do you show love to those you “love”? Do your actions say something different?

Has YHVH Elohim ever given you an answer through your dream? If so, I would love to hear about it.
